TRINITY ROBOTICS

Session 1: "OVERRIDE"

Override is the VEX Competition Game for the 2026-2027 season.  In this camp, you will:

  • learn about the game
  • build the hero bot (Flex)
  • practice driving
  • develop game strategies
  • discover ways to improve your robot design
  • learn about the VRC Drive Team Certification

Watch this video to learn about this year’s game.

The game manual explains the rules of the game.  You should read through it and understand all parts of the game rules, robot design requirements, and penalties.

The game manual will have a series of “major” and “minor” updates over the course of the season.  Rule changes become effective after a 7‑day grace period from the release date.  Expect releases on July 2, 2026 (version 1.0), August 6, 2026 (version 1.1), September 3, 2026 (version 2.0), October 8, 2026 (version 2.1), December 3, 2026 (Version 2.2), January 28, 2027 (Version 3.0), and March 25, 2027 (Version 4.0).

There is also a Q&A system found at https://events.vex.com/V5RC/2026-2027/QA where teams can get clarification on rules from the game committee.  These answers become a part of the official rules for the game.

A VEX V5RC match is played with four teams (with four robots).  Two robots will be on the red alliance and two on the blue alliance.  In this year’s game, the goal is to score as many points as you can by stacking pins and cups in the goals, setting toggles to your alliance color, and ending the match with your robot in the midfield.
