At the start of each match, alliance robots must be no larger than 18″ long x 18″ wide x 18″ tall<\/b>. They can expand once the match has started.<\/p>

Alliance robots must be placed in a way that meets all of the following criteria:<\/p>

  • not touching any cups <\/span>or pins <\/span>other than the one preload<\/li>
  • not touching any goal,<\/span> loader, load zone,\u00a0<\/span>or toggle<\/span><\/li>
  • no touching any other robot<\/li>
  • not in the same quadrant <\/b>as another robot<\/li>
  • completely stationary<\/li>
  • touching the field perimeter wall<\/span> and field tiles <\/span>on the alliance\u2019s side of the autonomous line (double white-stripe)<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Once the match begins, robots can expand beyond the 18″ x 18″ starting size, but it can never be larger than 24″ wide x 24″ long<\/b>.\u00a0 (The robot must always be able to fit inside a 24″ x 24″ square.<\/p>

    The robots must begin each match with dimensions smaller than\u00a018\u2033 x 18\u2033 x 18\u2033<\/span>.\u00a0 Once the match starts, robots may expand vertically as long as they don’t exceed an overall height of 50″\u00a0<\/b>at any point in the match. However, during the endgame <\/b>(last 10 seconds of the match) vertical expansion is limited to 18″ for any robot partly or completely in the midfield.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    You may not intentionally or strategically remove pins <\/b>or cups\u00a0<\/b>from the field.\u00a0 If a scoring element does leave the field during a match (intentionally or unintentionally), it will be returned to the field near where it left (in contact with the tiles and perimeter but not touching any other objects or robots).<\/p>

    After 3 matches with a violation<\/b>\u00a0of this rule, all additional violations will become a major violation<\/b> (disqualification).<\/div>

    Any team who <\/span>removes 3 or more pins or cups<\/b>\u00a0from the field in a single match will immediately receive a <\/span>major violation<\/b> (disqualification).<\/span><\/p><\/div>

    If it cannot be determined which robot was the last to contact a removed pin or cup, a <\/span>violation<\/b> will be given to all involved teams with the opposite color as the scoring object.<\/span><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Prior to the start of each match, teams may each place one preload pin\u00a0<\/b>(red\/yellow for the red alliance and blue\/yellow for the blue alliance) so that it:<\/p>
