<S1><\/b> If at any time your robot operation<\/b> or team actions<\/b> are deemed unsafe<\/b>, or you have damaged <\/b>a field element, scoring object, or the field, your team may receive a disablement <\/b>and\/or a disqualification <\/b>at the discretion of the head referee.\u00a0 The robot will have to be re-inspected before taking the field again.<\/p>

<S2> <\/b>Students cannot attend a VRC event without a responsible adult supervising<\/b> them.\u00a0 The adult must not violate student-centered policies and be present in case of emergencies.\u00a0 Violations of this rule may result in removal from the event.<\/p>

<S3><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Each student team member must have completed a participant release form<\/strong> on file for the event and season in order to participate.<\/p>

<S4><\/b> A robot must stay inside the game field<\/b>.\u00a0 If a robot is completely out of the playing field, it will be disabled <\/b>for the remainder of the match.\u00a0 It is usually fine if parts of the robot inadvertently cross the perimeter during normal game play.\u00a0<\/p>

<S5><\/b> All drive team members must wear safety glasses<\/b> (or glasses with side shields) while in the alliance stations during matches.\u00a0 It is highly recommended that all team members wear safety glasses in the pit and queuing areas as well.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

<G1><\/strong> Always treat everyone with respect<\/b>. (Showing disrespect to event staff, volunteers, or fellow competitors can result in a disqualification or make the team ineligible to receive judged awards. Repeated violations could result in a team being disqualified from an entire event.)<\/p>

<G2> <\/strong>V5RC is a student-centered<\/b> program.\u00a0<\/span>Adults <\/b>may assist students in urgent situations, but adults may never work on or program a robot without students being present and actively participating.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

<G3><\/span>\u00a0Use common sense<\/b> when reading and applying the rules. (There may be typos.)<\/p>

<G4><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Students <\/b>should be able to show judges and event staff their understanding of their robot’s construction and programming. Your robot needs to reflect the skill level of the team. Your engineering notebook must the work of students on the team.<\/span><\/p>

<G5><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>A student can only belong to one team<\/b>. Team members cannot move from one team to another during a season<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

<G6><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>There is a difference between accidentally and willfully violating a robot rule<\/span>. Any violation of a robot rule results in the team being unable to play until they pass inspection. However, a team that intentionally breaks a robot rule for competitive advantage will receive an immediate disqualification for the current match.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

<GG1> <\/span>Only drive team members<\/span> (up to 3) can be in the alliance station.  They cannot bring communication devices into the alliance station (unless communication features are turned off). They cannot stand on any sort of object during a match.  They cannot wear\/use powered headphones or earbuds as these might interfere with hearing verbal calls during a match. <\/p>\n

<GG2><\/b> Your team’s robot must be at the field<\/b> for each assigned match even if it is not functional. Otherwise, it is considered a “no-show” and your will receive no win points, autonomous win points, autonomous points, or strength of schedule points.<\/p>\n

<GG3><\/b> You must be prepared to play<\/b> when you put your robot on the field. If a robot is delaying the scheduled start of a match, it can be removed from the field at the discretion of the head ref or event partner. This includes:<\/p>\n
